What are the chances of me getting diabetes? |
okay, i know this sound a little bad my dad has it my dad's mum has it my grandpa has it my grandma has it my mum's brother has it my dad's dad had it (he passed away from it) my grandparent's parents both had it um.........i dont think things are looking to good for me? It all depends on if you share the same diet as they do? Some families eat in the same manner and thus the connection. Although it has been said that it maybe in your genes. I come from a huge family, I am the youngest of 10 siblings. I am the only one without diabetes, heart disease and high cholestrol. I chose to stay away from too many carbs, the sweets and generally eat healthier. I choose to believe that I can be and am healthy. Having a good positive outlook on things I believe is a good thing as well. I find that people who are always looking for the negative things or are always sad and depressed can sick a lot. I also stay active but not to the extreme, don't want to over-exert my heart and other body parts. Love, pray, be gracious, eat well and be positive. I will pray for you. There are some things you can do to help prevent it Maintain a healthy live style. Remain slim and visit and endocrinologist for advice that is not looking so good but if u eat a lot of sugar then u have a high risk of getting it and if ur not then it just runs in the family sorry if this doesn't help much. and if its becuz of the sugar, then lay off it. if you watch what you eat now you could prevent yourself from getting it - its the same in my family , i get my blood tested every now and then to get it checked just in case as im borderline diabetic which means i dont actually have it but if i dont watch what i eat i could end up being insulin dependant. best bet is to go to yours doctors i cant remember what it is they check for in your blood but just tell him your concerns. you should also do some research on it or go to a dietician to see how you could try and change your diet. hope thats helped need any thing else just ask. personal experience it depends upon ur age it will be due to inheritance if u get it in early age but u can get it at late age this isnot due to heritance so diabetes not affected by heritance I'm hoping that you are on the slim side but in your situation it doesn't matter. some children have diabetes. your family doctor should recommend you seeing a dietitian who is trained in diabetes and can help you make decisions on what foods are better for you to eat. stay away from a lot of carbs, for they contain sugar. Sometimes it can't be helped if it is genetic but it is controllable with diet most of the time. There are pills that are available also that can help instead of insulin.I sincerely recommend talking to a diabetic trained dietitan. |
