If you have diabetes does that make you short tempered? and if so why?

If you have diabetes does that make you short tempered? and if so why?

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) = lack of glucose (fuel) to the brain = physical and emotional (mood) changes, particularly aggression. There is a distinct link, although not every hypoglycemic becomes violent, and not every violent person is hypoglycemic. A good article regarding how hypoglycemia affects your body is http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/ar... Source(s): I am in healthcare education. I have seen one individual hospitalized on a psychiatric ward for uncontrolled diabetes resulting in extreme aggression.
It probably will, especially if your blood sugar is way too low.
"Whoa?! I can't eat that?!! Awe, son of a .... What are you staring at?! What to make something of it, huh punk..." Grandma would all feisty like that. "Make cookies for undeserving brats and I can't have just one!" ... "Owe Grandma that hurts.."
I have diabetes type 2, and when my blood sugar is too high (not too low), I get tired. And when I'm tired, I'm grouchy and impatient.

When my blood sugar is too low, I just feel lightheaded and weak. It doesn't affect my mood much.
Experience
I think it does. I worked with someone who had Diabetes and he was a major asshole!
