Exercise and diabetes????

How much difference can ur activity level make in ur BG readings?

A huge difference. If I am high when I get to gym after an hour of working out I will find that I am going low. I always keep some jelly beans in my glove box for that very reason.
It can make a hugeeeeeeeeeeee difference if you get regular exercise and have diabetes.
Usually your body cells need insulin to allow the sugar circulating in your blood to enter the cells for the body to use as energy. Aerobic exercise changes the cell membranes, allowing blood glucose to enter the cells without needing as much insulin. It is important to make sure that you do not become hypoglycemic during periods of exercise due to the decrease in blood sugar.
A huge difference. Try avoiding excercise for some time and you'll see the difference. Exercise actually aids your body's use of insulin.
Let's put it this way.... if I exercise enough and watch my diet, I don't have to take any medication at all. My HbA1C is 5.8. I am a type 2, btw.
Even small amounts of REGULAR exercise change the way your body uses insulin.
Exercise is the one thing you can do to control your diabetes that you have total control over. I also believe that you can get the most benefit by exercising for short periods of time a few times a day (about 2 hours or so after each meal).
