What causes dry eye and a swollen eyelid?

All last week i had severe dry eye in my right eye- it got so bad without visine, my eye would dry out and would sting like hell- I had to constantly blink nonstop. And my right eye was as blooshot as can be- This week the bloodshotness is gone, and its not really dry anymore- but my eyelid is sore and a bit swollen. What could cause this?

It could be any number of things, it sounds like allergies or you have come in contact with some kind of irratant. Have you changed your routine in any way, new soap, shampoo, place you work etc?

You may have allegeries which is making your eyes dry out or it could be something else..u need to talk to ur doctor or you can go see an eye doctor to get the proper help needed....good luck
