Why do eyes become drier after Lasik surgery? |
Why do eyes become drier after Lasik surgery? Because many of the nerves to the cornea are cut during surgery. The nerves then can't give any feedback to the brain when the eyes are dry, so less moisture is produced. This condition usually improves within a few months. I pretty much have to agree wholeheartedly with the optometrist's answer. The eye can sustain both nerve and other damages that are almost always temporary (especially now that lasik is an older procedure). They should go away after about three months or so, and you can take some over the counter drops to ease the symptoms |
