Super Dry Eyes? |
Anyone else suffering from this? Are there any really thing that helps besides a nice moist warm cloth? What helped you? May sound nasty nut I have been walking up with really crusty eyes and sometimes the mucus is so strong it takes me a few minutes to actually open them or blink. Very frustrating, especially because in the future I want to have lasik done. Thanks, Appreciate it It sounds that you may have chronic dry eyes, which can be the result of aging, certain medications, contacts wear, blockage of tear ducts, or could be a problem with the lacrimal gland or its innervation. Besides eye drops, there is a drug called "Restasis" that stimulates the lacrimal gland to produce more tears. Another option is the use of punctal plugs, which plug the tiny holes that the tears drain through, keeping the tears from draining. They can be temporary or permanent. It sounds more like an allergic type blepharo-conjunctivitis,and blephamide drops may do the trick (if you're not allergic to sulfa drugs)... A warm and mild solution of boric acid may attenuate some symptoms if you can't get the drops. You may have a slight infection so you need to see the ophthalmologist and he will recommend the right eye drops for you. I had the same problem and now no problem. Drops twice a day to replace the moisture. I'm happy! Use eye drop like refresh plus. It does helps. |
