Contact lenses for astigmatism and dry eyes? |
Hi I went to the opticians today after trying out the frequency xcel toric lenses because I have astigmatism. However, they felt very uncomfortable because I have dry eyes and therefore I think they are unsuitable. The ones I were originally going to have were about 拢100's a year but they have told me I now need to get the acuvue advance toric lenses because of my dry eyes but these will cost me 拢200's a year. But because I am 16 I am only earning a little bit of money and will have to pay for them myself can anyone recommend a cheaper pair that are good for astigmatism and dry eyes? Thankyou I have an astigmatism and I get my lenses from Specsavers . They cost me 拢12 per month on a monthly direct debit. I buy Opti-Free Express lasting comfort solution .With eye drops for dry eyes. And I find them comfortable . I hope this helps . Good luck. i have astigmatism and dry eyes and i get my contacts from specsavers on their monthly direct debit scheme. they cost 拢13 a month so a little bit less than you've been asked to pay. You also get half price specs on this scheme as well, all cleaning fluids etc and aftercare is also included in the monthly price. It might be worth givng them a call. i have the same as you get mine on monthly payment plan from boots get free eye tests and money off glasses mine are 22 pounds a month ...but i will not use toric lenses they are very uncomfortable so i use day and night lenses....And use eye drops aswell when needed. Myabe o2 optix toric and purevision toric, proclear toric i used to have very dry eyes and found that when i came off the contraceptive pill they got better.. dunno if that's relevant to you. Also, probably a bit obvious but i realised that i probably wasn't drinking enough and drinking more really made a difference to my eyes. |
