What should i do for dry skin around the eye area?

dry skaly skin around upper and lower eye lids

I have extremely dry skin around my eyes and tried just about everything. Someone told me to try Vaseline a while back, but I thought it sounded gross. Finally, I got desperate enough to try it and it worked! I'm sure you've gone through the gamate...every expensive lotion and eye cream.

lotion

get a facial moisturizer... they work well and won't clog your pores.

Try taking Claritin everyday. This sounds like an allergy issue I used to have.

gently apply a small amount of aloe or moisterizing lotion
be careful not to get in eyes
if u cry or rub ur eyes alot, thts prob y its dry

Clinique makes a really good face moisturizer with spf 25 added it works really good and can be used around the eyes.

lotion?

i had the same skin problem. apply special skin lotion and face wash. thats how i did it.

facial moisturizer...if you have sensitice skin...try aveeno or hylira. they work for me :P

Eye cream is the best thing you can do for dry scaly skin around your eyes. I used to have this problem, and I started using Lancome's Primordiale Eye Skin Recharge. Within weeks, the skin around my eyes were moisturized and looked a lot better. Lancome's products are pricey, so feel free to research similar products. Here's a list of the Top 10 Eye Creams according to iVillage: http://beauty.ivillage.com/shop/prodrevi...

Also, the area around your eyes, especially the skin directly below your eyes, is the most sensitive area on your face. As obvious as it sounds, neither lotion nor moisturizer are formulated for your eye area. They are for your face. You need to get a cream specifically for the eye area.

lotion has the chance of getting into the eye and really irritating it.

Try washing with hot/warm water, then pat dry, and before it's all completely dried off rub on some vasiline over the dry areas. Sleep on it. Vasoline not only seals in moisture, it helps speed healing.

I've used it on my hands when they get really rough, and on other areas and always saw improvement.
