What should i do for dry skin around the eye area? |
dry skaly skin around upper and lower eye lids I have extremely dry skin around my eyes and tried just about everything. Someone told me to try Vaseline a while back, but I thought it sounded gross. Finally, I got desperate enough to try it and it worked! I'm sure you've gone through the gamate...every expensive lotion and eye cream. lotion get a facial moisturizer... they work well and won't clog your pores. Try taking Claritin everyday. This sounds like an allergy issue I used to have. gently apply a small amount of aloe or moisterizing lotion Clinique makes a really good face moisturizer with spf 25 added it works really good and can be used around the eyes. lotion? i had the same skin problem. apply special skin lotion and face wash. thats how i did it. facial moisturizer...if you have sensitice skin...try aveeno or hylira. they work for me :P Eye cream is the best thing you can do for dry scaly skin around your eyes. I used to have this problem, and I started using Lancome's Primordiale Eye Skin Recharge. Within weeks, the skin around my eyes were moisturized and looked a lot better. Lancome's products are pricey, so feel free to research similar products. If your wear contacts, did you use hair spray? If yes, clean hard lenses with dish washing detergent... soft lenses IDK ...Old contacts that weren't really clean could cause this issue as you stated, cold, dry air is also a culprit. There may have been dust or something on the lens that has scratched the eye'... Optive is a good eye drop for dryness.There is also another drop called systane.Both are nice.If that doesn't help, make an app. to see your eye doctor. ...Visine TEARS are great. If you are not having any other problems besides dryness do not use the Visine "get the red out"- That has medication in it that constricts blood vessels, and cons... Sounds like a condition called nystagmus - do some research on it...with it increasing in frequency, I would suggest a neurological consult with perhaps a neuro ophthalmologist... ...Actually, it makes sense that you would wear RGPs, since rigid gas permeable lenses let more oxygen into the eye and are often prescribed for dry eyes, since they don't absorb as much tear fil...
