Best drops for the dry eye?

Hello!
Could someone please recommend drops for the very dry eyes. Doctor suggested that I buy Systane, but it's not helping me. I also tried REFRESH by Allergan (same thing). When using Systane it actually made my eyes sometimes even more dry.
Which one would you recommend using for dry and also I have very strained/tired eyes too. Is there drops for both dry and strained eyes?

Thank you!

They are some of the best on the market, but another good one that's come out is Soothe XP....make sure it says XP. It will turn your vision a milky white for about 30 seconds, but I'm hearing good things about it from my patients.

If your eyes are severely dry, you should be putting the drops in at least 4 times a day; more if you need to. If you need them more than five or six times a day, you need a higher level of treatment...i.e., something prescriptive.

hope this helps.

minzdrav - I have sinus problems and this somehow leads to dry eyes. I have tried all the drops and gels and finally gave up and have gone the 'old fashioned' way...what people did before there were hundreds of eye drops available. With dry eyes (eyes that don't make enough tears) you need to first cleanse the eyes then moisturize the eyes.

Now every morning and before bed I just rinse my eyes in a home made saline (using non-iodonized salt) solution that I make every morning (takes 2 seconds). I carry an eye dropper bottle of it with me throughout the day (for cleanliness I boil the dropper bottle every night). After rinsing (cleansing) my eyes i put a TINY dab of VASELINE (yes, Vaseline) on the inside of the lower lids to moisturize. I used to use GenTeal eye gel, but it didn't last very long.

I used to wake up every morning with 'crusty' eyes or have a lot of mucus in my eyes throughout the day and my eyes would always feel itchy but now I don't experience those problems. When my eyes feel dry I just use a few drops of my homemade saline solution.

Good luck

The best are all natural yawning tears. Many people have learned to cover up and suppress their natural tendencies to yawn. Yawning is very natural and healthy. It increases oxygen and circulation in the head. Too many people take yawning as rude and a sign of boredom to others.

In college I told my professors that I would probably yawn in front of them and to not take it personally. I told them yawning was a sign that I thought it was important enough to stay awake in their class.

You too can become a master yawner and wash those dry itchy irritated eyes away. Just practice yawning untill you bring tears. As you practice yawning you will be able to bring tears sooner for your dry itchy iritated eyes.

With All-Natural yawning tears you will not become dependant upon artificial solutions and you don't have to worry about adverse side effects.

And all that I ask for this free miricle cure is that you check out the other questions I have answered and asked about our amazing natural eyesight.

just use artificial tears every 2 hours or so for a while and you should be goood...

if not... try the artificial tear ointment at night time before you go to sleep and the next day your be good for a while...

i'm with dpc: soothe xp is an excellent idea. also oral omega 3 fishoil gels.

i also like "optive" by allergan

i tried these eye drops once called Roto...wow they were AMAZING. really intense. check em' out! although, i think they may be geared more towards red eye, but i remember them making my eyes feel fantastic as well as getting rid of that red eye.
