Dry eyes and mouth with Wellbutrin? |
I have been taking Wellbutrin XL (300 mg) for about 2 weeks so far. I'm very pleased with the results... I'm more energetic and awake (no more coffee dependence), and my appetite is more easily controlled (I'm a weight-conscious, emotional eater). The main problem so far is that I've noticed that my eyes are very dry, which is bad when you wear contact lenses. I know one of the main side effects is dry mouth, so it seems to make sense that dry eyes would also be a side effect. Has anyone experienced this as a side effect? As with any anti-depressive, Wellbutrin has a number of side effects. The most common side effects with WELLBUTRIN XL are weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often. wellbutrin has help me My dry mouth is very bad I have not experienced that. However, Wellbutrin has not helped me. I have been on it for over a year and my depression is worse. I have an appointment to get my medication reveiwed. Dry mouth and eyes are common side effects of any anti depressant. The benefits sound like they out weigh the negatives. I think it's great you feel so much better. Often the side effect of dry mouth improves over time...so I would think dry eyes will also probably only be a temporary problem. I have found Wellbutrin to be the best psych med (most effective/ least side effects) that I have ever been on. Good luck with it! |
