How long after lasik surgery has someone had dry eyes? |
I've had surgery over a month ago and my eyes feel like sand - I still use drops but they are forever dry and burn and sting. It can last up to 4-6 months. If you have to use more tears than you can keep up with, ask your surgeon to consider punctal (tear duct) plugs. They act as corks in the tear ducts to keep the tears that you produce on the eye longer. Good luck. 10 to 14 days for me For me it was around two months of using drops constantly, or my eyes felt like they had sand in them. After that I was able to get by with just using drops in the morning for a year or so before I could get by a single day without them. Be forewarned, though, that your eyes will forever show more dryness than they used to, and you should always have some eyedrops available. This has been the case for myself and the dozen people I know who have had Lasic in the last ten years. |
