Dry itchy eyes????????/? |
my eyes are real dry and itchy. i've tried vaseline and that's helped a little bit. any other suggestions???????? DON'T USE VASELINE, it traps bacteria and can give you eye infections. Flush your eyes out with a warm, mildly salty water solution. You can also buy commercial eye drops for a small fortune or go to a health food shop or herbalists and get some of the herb eyebright, it does what it says it does. Do not try picking it yourself unless you are competent and know what you are doing. Another good cure (and I know this sounds strange) is green tea bags, its also called Chinese tea. Soak a tea bag in hot water and then take it out and wait till it is cool and place one on each eye...bliss. You can also use regular black tea bags but be warned, don't keep these on for too long, black tea stains!!! All sorts of things cause dry and itchy eyes, dust, pet allergies, pollution, tiredness, eye strain from looking at a computer screen too long, cigarette smoke or you might be coming down with an infection. Dehydration is a common cause, so go now and drink a big glass of water... how strange, i've been having the same problem. at first i thought it was lack of sleep, but now i figured out it was depression. yup. deep deep sadness. Try eye drops!! I've had the same problem for years may be an allergy of some sorts. I use Refresh Tears in the morning and it seems to help. Experiment with any of the OTC lubricant eye drops to see which one works best for you. there are certain eye drops just for allergies - try that my friend swears by them and keeps a bottle with her all of the time - no matter the season! good luck! obviously stay away from make up but an eye bath of tepid water followed by cucumber slice on each eye will sooth i have had it before |
