Gritty and red dry eyes? |
I had really bad dry eye during the summer and now its back with the the change of weather (a/c and heat make them worse) They are red, sandy and they burn alot, can anyone suggest some eyedrops for severe chronic dry eye? Try Systane. It works pretty well for many of my patients. Also, there is a new drop on the market called Soothe. You may have to go to an optometrist to get it because it is so new. It is an ocular emolient that does a good job of replacing the oily layer of your tears and thereby retards evaporation ( that's what you are probably complaining of related to the a/c and heater in the home) and tends to last longer per drop. Hope this helped. Drops are not necessarily the answer. check out the www.dryeyecenterofmd.com. These guys are the best! It could be Blepharitis - the most common eye inflammation. I had the same problem. My optician gave me Lotemax and it's working great for me so far. |
