Was this the beginning of an eating disorder? |
When i was 6 years old i remember that i used to look at my stomach every few minutes when i was eating something 'bad" to see if i was getting fatter. Yes, I think you must have been convinced at that early age that food was the enemy and that being "fat" was the worst consequence of all. I think eating disorders are starting at younger and younger ages because children are exposed to media hype. Also, many young children are affected by their parents own disordered views of the healthy body and the pleasure and, of course, necessity of nourishment. My daughter is 6 and she is all about eating healthy food. I think its a natural thing for a child to do. I am glad you have overcome your bulimia. I'm no expert, but I would say yes and I'm about 98% sure. I started obsessing in my early teens. It is good to hear you have overcome it. Recovery is hard work so it's great news to hear when others overcome it. Its hard to tell since we're not doctors. But good for you for overcoming it. just for the sake of saying something; being underweight is much more dangerous for your health than overweight lol, we all did that. becuase we heard that if you eat candy you'll get fat so when you DO eat it you looked to see! at 13 you were probably going through some hard times. i'm 16 now and uh....sucks!!!! |
