Need help gaining weight after a eating disorder, any comments? |
Thanks for the advice, I must include that I'm unable to eat large portions of anything, a cup of yogurt is too much. My goal weight is 110 I went from 81 to 91 in 10 years , not very good huh. Eat a balanced diet and drink lots of fluids. Remember to eat extra protein, like fish, red meat, eggs; and also a lot of "good" carbohydrates. You need to think about building not only fat, but also muscle. And strengthening other organs and parts of the body affected. So eat healthy and exercise. You'll gain weight in fat and muscle. Drink Ensure daily. This includes lots of healthy vitamins to help replinish your lost ones. Well, eat healthily, but make bigger portions, and ask for help making sure you eat more. You do NOT want to be unhealthily gaining weight either. Don't overexercise or overeat to gain back the weight. Just bigger portions of foods that have things your body needs to survive. It's going to be a long hard haul, but you can do it. Don't overdo it. Healthy carbs. Eat a normal amount of calories a day which is around the 2,000 mark. I don't suggest really fatty foods that are going to make you feel gross. I have faith in you! After any eating disorder, it is essential that your consult a mental health practitioner and dietician. There is a condition called "re-feedig syndrome" which is common in people who suffer from eating disorders and extreme weight fluctuations. It is advisable to consult a counsellor (or psychologist) who can help you deal with the issues that have brought on the initial problem, someone you feel comfortable discussing issues with. |
