How can they get mad about eating disorder's?

okay, i tell my friend everything.
and he said how he always tells me there's something wrong with me.
nd he's trying to get me to do other things instead of making myself puke and barely eating.
it's hard for me to make him understand that i can't just magically change this.
this is my mindset.
and it's going to be hard to do something about it.
it gets him really upset because he cares about me a lot.
and told me "whatever, do what you want, have fun, i don't care anymore."
do you thinkit's alright for people to get mad at their friends/famly for an eating disorder?

it's not that i'm refusing help.
but it's not as easy as just stopping.
it's gradual.
and he doesn't understand that.
it's not like i want to have an illness.

If you know you have an eating disorder and you do nothing about it, yes that would be frustrating... and it's not a "mindset" it's a disease. And if you don't feel ready to get help then drop the topic until your ready cause it'll tick him off even more that you continue knowing it bothers him so much. It's one thing when you don't agree to having a disorder there for not getting treatment, it's another when you tell people about it and chose not to get help.

He's not mad at you for having an eating disorder, honey. He's frustrated with you because you are not trying to do something about it.

Its a hard situation.. you have this illness.. and its not easy for you to deal with it.. But yes of course people are going to get mad at you for not getting help..People care about you and don't want you to die..
It would be like someone having cancer and just refusing treatment.. its there chioce yes.. But will your friends and family be mad? YES of course they will..
So yes to answer your Q.. yes i thinks its alright for people to get mad at you for killing yourself and refusing to try to help yourself..

Update.. ok if your receiving some sort of treatment then Thats a very good step in the right direction.. He's still entitled to his feelings tho.. everyone is.. If you don't like his reaction then tell him you want some distance.. he's gonna feel the way he's gonna feel.. its up to you if you want to listen to it or not..
Goodluck!
keep your chin up and keep trying.. i know its hard

he s just saying it to you like that because he s hurting and doesn t know how too help you .

I don't think he's mad at you. I think he's worried and frustrated that there's nothing he can do to help you. You need to get help for this right away and deal with it before you end up hurting or killing yourself. If you're doing that then maybe you could share with him what your program is like and how it's helping you. So he can see that you're making progress. Good luck and please get help if you aren't getting it. You deserve to have a long, healthy life.

For somebody who doesn't have an eating disorder, it's very easy to get mad or frustrated.
Because when you have an eating disorder, you know it's hard to deal with and hard to fix.
But if someone doesn't understand what it's like to have an eating disorder, they just think "Well they could fix it if they wanted to/ they're just too lazy to go on another diet or go to the gym/ trying to take the easy way out/ why can't they just stop and be healthy?"
They truly don't understand.
So from their point of view, they think you're doing it on purpose or for attention. They just get tired of trying to help you if their help isn't really helping you, get it?
Most of those kinds of people have that "Well if I can't fix it, and they can't fix it, then screw it- I'm tired of trying to help."
It's probably just bothering him to know that he can't help you.

Your friend's not mad at you for your disorder, he's just tired of seeing you do what you do and he wants you to get better. At least, that's how I feel with my best friend.
It's hard for people to watch people in pain and not know how to fix it. Just as an example, how would you react if you found out that your friend was going to kill himself in two days? That's generally what you're friend's feeling about you.
