Should I go see my doctor? (Based on disordered eating)?

I've had problems with food for about a year now. After being 9 st I managed to get to 7 and a half st in a couple of months, but then I would ''give up'' and start eating normally again. Throughout last summer I was very unhappy with my body, so I started crash dieting again, eating less than 500 calories a day. Again, 7 and a half st was my lowest weight. However, now I have a tendency to crash diet one week, where I can loose up to half a stone, the next I will binge constantly and eat stupid amounts of food and put on A LOT of weight that my family have noticed. I'll eat even if I'm not hungry and eat to the point I feel I could throw up. I don't know why I do it, it just happens. I have also made myself throw up a lot.
I don't know whether to see my doctor about this. I'm fed up of being really unhappy with myself, but will they just laugh in my face and tell me I'm being silly or just eating like any other normal person?
Please please give me advice! Thanks, Kat xx

well it is commendable that u want to help urself be healthy. now u just need to carefully and politely say to ur parents that u think u shud get help frm a doctor because u have been trying and that it really is becoming a problem. say that this is for ur health and that u really think it is necessary. good luck!

You should really see a doctor or a nutritionist, eating disorders should always be taken serious, and there is no way your doctor will think you're silly.

Alright Kat, you really need help here. Yes, I strongly urge you to see a doctor AND get in touch with a nutritionist. This is definitely an eating disorder and I'm sure you don't want to live like this any longer. No, they will not laugh in your face or call you silly. Not if they're a legitimate doctor. Seek help. Asap before this gets any worse..

If you think it's a MAJOR problem, yes, go see the doctor.
I don't think it is.
You just want to lose weight. Heres what I do. I lost 9 pounds in a month. Basically, instead of crash diet, go on a steady diet. Women are supposed to eat 2400 calories a day, so start by eating between 1000-1400 calories a day. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Personally, I like fruits better. You can get a lot of junk food and yummy food that isn't a lot of calories. Also, just exercise a bit everyday.

It's harder to recover by yourself than it is with someone beside you. The constant changes in food intakes are very bad for or your body, it'll weaken you. Go see the doctor, they can give you healthy weightloss tips if you need to or they can help you improve your body image.

Hope you get better

I honestly don't think you need a doctor.. I think you just need to eat better, and control your cravings... a lot of people do the same exact thing you do... they get mad at themselves and throw up, and cry... and then they don't eat much.. and then they eat too much, etc. I know because i've been there DONE that!... It's really no fun... you just need to find something that you enjoy doing.. school sports are GREAT to get involved in... you work your butt off, and get to hang out with usually pretty cool girls... just stop being so down on yourself, and eat better!... you didn't say how old you were... but if you live on your own.. just simply don't buy junk food.. if it's not in the house, you can't eat it!.. if you live at home, tell your mom or dad that your upset about your weight (although your not heavy AT ALL)... and then they can help you along too.. one, by not having junk food in the house, and maybe your mom can start walking or running with you.

Hope everything works out for you... but please PLEASE do NOT let weight affect you, and how happy you are... it really isn't worth it... unless you 350 pounds. There are honestly MUCH worse things to worry about in life, than weight. I know it's a major factor... but please, just know that your beautiful, and YOU control your body, and what goes into it!
