How can I find out if i have an eating disorder?

SOme days i dont eat at all and if anything consume about 50-100 calories. Other days i eat a little more. Some days i eat about 500 calories. And then some days I totally binge. The thing is is on any day no matter if i eat or not i throw up after i eat anything. I used to be 150 pounds when i was 12 years old and i dropped to 130 pounds before high school began. Now i stay in the range between 112-117. Im always deathly afraid of gaining it. and i gain weight EXTREMELY EASILY. what do i do.

if you are throwing up on purpose-you definately have an eating disorder-if it is not on purpose-you have anotehr medical problem-either way you need help-

the best way to keep your weight down is to have a steady calorie intake-when you stop eating your metabolism slows down--and doesn't go back up right away when you do eat again

if you are around 5 feet tall you are the perfect weight...but that kind of behavior doesn't sound normal....maybe you should go see a doctor.

Yes, that sounds like an eating disorder! PLEASE get help, Anorexia is the deadliest mental illness there is.

It all depends on why your eating patterns vary like this. If you starve yourself, and throw up for fear of gaining weight, than yes, you do have an eating disorder. If you don't eat because you simply are not hungry, or it makes you feel sick, then it's not necessarily an eating disorder, but you should probably see a doctor. Also, why do you moniter what you eat so closely? Eat what you want, don't overdo it, and keep active.
Good Luck

I would say yes you do have an eating disorder. You should talk to the school nurse or a doctor, ASAP

how tall are you?
....

Sounds like you might have one...but it's hard to be sure.

Go to the doctor.

Symptoms of an eating disorder:
-Dramatic weight loss in a relatively short period of time.
-Wearing big or baggy clothes or dressing in layers to hide body shape and/or weight loss.
-Obsession with weight and complaining of weight problems (even if "average" weight or thin).
-Obsession with calories and fat content of foods.
-Obsession with continuous exercise.
-Frequent trips to the bathroom immediately following meals (sometimes accompanied with water running in the bathroom for a long period of time to hide the sound of vomiting).
-Visible food restriction and self-starvation.
-Visible bingeing and/or purging.
-Use or hiding use of diet pills, laxatives, ipecac syrup (can cause immediate death!) or enemas.
Isolation. Fear of eating around and with others.
-Unusual Food rituals such as shifting the food around on the plate to look eaten; cutting food into tiny pieces; making sure the fork avoids contact with the lips (using teeth to scrap food off the fork or spoon); chewing food and spitting it out, but not swallowing; dropping food into napkin on lap to later throw away.
-Hiding food in strange places (closets, cabinets, suitcases, under the bed) to avoid eating (Anorexia) or to eat at a later time (Bulimia).
-Flushing uneaten food down the toilet (can cause sewage problems).
-Vague or secretive eating patterns.
-Keeping a "food diary" or lists that consists of food and/or behaviors (ie., purging, restricting, calories consumed, exercise, etc.)
-Pre-occupied thoughts of food, weight and cooking.
-Visiting websites that promote unhealthy ways to lose weight.
-Reading books about weight loss and eating disorders.
-Self-defeating statements after food consumption.
-Hair loss. Pale or "grey" appearance to the skin.
-Dizziness and headaches.
-Frequent soar throats and/or swollen glands.
-Low self-esteem. Feeling worthless. Often putting themselves down and complaining of being "too stupid" or "too fat" and saying they don't matter. Need for acceptance and approval from others.
-Complaints of often feeling cold.
-Low blood pressure.
-Loss of menstrual cycle.
-Constipation or incontinence.
-Bruised or calluses knuckles; bloodshot or bleeding in the eyes; light bruising under the eyes and on the cheeks.
-Perfectionistic personality.
-Loss of sexual desire or promiscuous relations.
-Mood swings. Depression. Fatigue.
-Insomnia. Poor sleeping habits

You have bulemic mindset at the very least, with possible anorexia complications.

Eating disorders are as much the state of mind that you're in as much as the actual actions you undertake.

Tell your parents and your doctor. This can become a life-long problem if you don't get help now and it can produce life-long medical problems as well.

Good luck.

What you've described is an eating disorder. It sounds to me like you have a combination of anorexia and bulimia - some days you're starving yourself, other days you binge and purge (throwing up). You're doing major, major damage to your body right now. By throwing up repeatedly you're going to be dehydrated, putting a major strain on your heart, and the acid from your stomach will erode your teeth and gums. 10% of people end up dying from bulimia. Please talk to your family, friends, someone who you trust, and see if you can get yourself some help. This is a serious disorder, and if you don't get it under control you can do irreversible damage to your body. I know how frustrating it is to feel like you're overweight, that you don't like how you look, but you need help from a professional in changing how you see yourself, learning to love yourself the way you are, and stay at a healthy weight.

i think you do have an eating problem.
you keep track of your calorie intake and you throw up.
and you are deathly afraid of gaining.
you should see a counsellor FAST and they can tell you what you can do.
i > think < you are in the early stages of an eating disorder.
get it before it gets you.
good luck
