How do you approch someone you think has an eating disorder?

My friends and I have noticed that one of us in our little group hasn't been eating right. We've noticed that she doesn't eat as much as she used to and she's really obsessed with her weight. She's ALWAYS exercising. She weighs 102 and she's 14 yrs. We want to tell her but how do we approach her without making things worst???

Give her some hints here and there so she knows that you know about her disorder. What you want is for her to admit it to you. Give her hints for a few days and see if she does. If not go and talk to her about it. Don't confront her with your group, do it alone. Then get the parents involved.

First, share your concern with some adults that you trust...teachers, counsellors, clergy etc.

When you talk to her, focus on her health, not her appearance. Her eating disorder is about her self esteem, appearance etc. By discussing that "she is already attractive, that she doesn't need to diet etc" will only compound the issue.

Tell her that her lack of eating and overexercising is unhealthy. She is harming herself and that you are concerned about her because you care for her. Encourage her to talk to someone about what she is going through.

Don't expect her to listen to you the first time....be patient with her. Share out of your genuine concern.

You are a good friend....don't give up.

be very carefull you dont want to upset her into doing anything more harmful. But you do need to sit down and talk to her. Maybe talk with her mom and express your concern.
after addressing it make sure to get her help and encorage her. when she gets help its going to be very hard for her and she needs you to help her through it.
i would discuss it with her mom or a parent and take some time to sit and discuss your concern with her
