How to deal with people that think I have an eating disorder? |
Although I'm normal weight and naturally slim, Hmmm... When I was a kid, and actually until after I was married, I was really really thin. My mom used to say she was embarrassed to take me anywhere because people thought she didn't feed me! I was not anorectic, I just was naturally thin. Most people have the opposite problem; they are fighting to take weight off, and sometimes resent those who do not have that problem. If you are healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. Dress well and enjoy the fact that you don't have to diet to stay slim! Tell them to mind there own buisness, ignore them you know you havent got one. If they aren't that concerned, ignore them... yes people above are right....they might have a problem with their own weight so they're trying to tell you that you should also worry about your weight...they want to make you feel you have a disorder and that's not funny..especially if it is people that don't even know you and don't really care! take care! you know the truth, so don't let them get to you. people may say things meaning to be well-intentioned, but actually not have enough facts to make an informed statement. try to ignore them. Just ignore them dear! If you're aware of your normal eating habits...then you don't have to worry about it! well i think your best bet is to just ingore them, they could be jealous of you! Hey, I empathize - I used to get that all the time. It really makes you feel bad - you have a naturally thin (and by today's standards, "desirably sexy") body, and people want to attribute that to unhealthy dieting. There isn't much that you can do, unless you want to have a doctor's word on it. Even though you may be underweight, if you are not showing any signs of actual malnutrition or self harm, you only have to point that out to people and hope that they are intelligent enough to see the evidence. For example, you highlight the fact that you aren't pale or shaky, have a normal temperature and normal heartrate, don't have calluses on your fingers, have some muscle mass, whatever. |
