I am a Diabetic with a eating disorder, where can I find medical help in Toronto? I am losing the fight!?

I have no control, I always eat more then I need and I know it is killing me, but I still over eat. I try to stay bissy with things out of the apartment. I have lost my left foot to amputation, my blood surger is up and down. I know what to do, but I don't seam to care. I know it makes no sence, I lost one foot and may lose my remaining foot. You would think any sane person would change their eating habbites. So I know I need help.

Hi- I can relate, I am a Type 1 diabetic with bulimia. Have you ever been diagnosed with binge eating disorder? I am not a doctor, but it sounds like b.e.d. based on the symptoms you listed (overeating when you know that it is slowly killing you and yet don't want to stop).
I know you must be going through a pretty dark time right now- but no, you are not losing the fight as long as you keep telling yourself that your eating disorder will not continue to take over your life. I know the shame that goes along with habitual overeating, but please try to talk to someone that you truly trust who will see your problem as a serious and life-threatening condition. Maybe you could see a counselor or talk to your endocrinologist or other diabetes care person.
Also, try to journal as much as possible. Try to figure out exactly what your binges are attempting to cover up. Is it lonlieness, anger, boredom, fear, anxiety?
Just stay strong- As impossible as it may seem, know that you are not alone in your struggle. Even with your diabetes complications and amputated foot, it is never too late to take back contol of your life. It wont be easy to fight this- it will be tough, but you can do it.

Here are some specific treatment centers based in or around Toronto-Please contact one of them as soon as you can.
