What are treatments for Binge Eating Disorder? |
Would weight loss surgery like the Lap Band cure someone with this disorder? I'm a binge eater too. It's not easy that much I know. I have been increasing my cardio and eating healthy snacks. Now I might eat a bunch of carrots instead a box of crackers. I realize I have not fixed the habit, but I have cut the calories on the binge. Distract yourself with other things to do...get out of the house if that's where you tend to binge. Good luck! Treatment for binge eating disorder includes counseling and sometimes medicine. Goals in treating binge eating often include; No that's just a temporary fix, plus you'll still have cholesterol problems after the surgery (cause it can't fix that). Then if you eat again cause you're thin you'll be adding to the cholesterol issues and won't know it when you get a heart attack. It's a mental thing, you would need a psychatrist. No the surgery will be ineffective since Binge eating is a "disorder", it needs to be treated before any weight loss program, surgery, etc. Should be tried. |
