Eating Disorder
Anorexia Nervosa - Not Eating = Disorder
Most people eat so the people that don't it's called disorder

fair point. however its actually a mental disorder more than eating disorder, the brain tells the sufferer that they need to be in control or that they are fat etc. either way, its an awful problem and i wish well to anyone suffering. x

very funny
nice one
have a chip

boom boom !!

lol.
It is called an Eating (dis)order because when translated it means (Non-eating)

Well think about it, the person's eating habits are disordered. In no way does the name imply that they do or do not eat.

They have disordered eating habits, i.e. abnormal eating habits.

Eating too much is an eating disorder in the same way anorexia is.
------ edit
no anima fragile, throwing it up later is bullimia.

It's Called an eating disorder because it is associated with consuming food. Even though it's the lack of food consumption it still has do with eating one way or the other! Good one though!!

Like you think it should be called "starving disorder"?

Anorexia is a mental illness not eating is just one of many sad symptoms

Eating - Disorder. Think about it...

It should be called a food and self image anxiety disorder

lol
good one

Those are 2 different things:

Anorexia: eating but vomit the food later.
Eating disorder: not eating nothing at all.

Actually, anorexia is not an eating disorder. "Anorexia nervosa" is the eating disorder. "Anorexia" simply means loss of appetite, however - like your good self - most people don't distinguish between the two.

Because it centres around the patients bad eating habits and especially attitudes towards eating.

The disorder portion of the term refers to not eating...

It's a disorder in which you do not eat... this goes against the order of things... which is to eat.

I like Laurence F's explanation.
