Do i have an eating disorder? [14 yr old]? |
yeah sorry i don't know much about eating disorders.. but my best friend and sister both had them, and since then i've been really conscious of my weight [my sister made rude comments to me, i think that's what may have triggered it]. Quit while your ahead. You already have clear and defined disordered behaviors- and while you do not currently meet the criteria for anorexia and bulimia, you DO meet the criteria for ED-NOS. You should stop this habbit. dont make urself puke...trust me. i just did like saturday and i havent been able to eat n ething sinse then! and omg! it sucks! im dizzy all the time and cant run! it sucks! (thats what triggered me (ppl telling me im fat)) so yea. ur doin good. Firstly, there's no need to apologize! I wouldn't expect you to know about this stuff. I would say that you do have an eating disorder. You can still have an eating disorder and be at a normal weight, and it doesn't make it any less serious or dangerous. A diagnosis isn't that important because you obviously have a problem with food and it doesn't need to be labelled...it just needs to be sorted out. Purging and chewing & spitting food out are all signs of EDs. Could you talk to your parents about this? If not then maybe a school counsellor? I think you should go to see a doctor and maybe you could be referred to a specialist or a psychologist. Please do something about it because it's so dangerous and the longer you stay like this, the more it will consume your life and the harder it will be to break free. Well i am currently reading this book, it is called next to nothing. i am bulimic and have been for a while, like a few years. i think it would help you. to answer your question, i don't want to diagnose you because i am not a doctor, but there is an eating disorder that covers this, it is called ED-NOS it stands for Eating Disorder not Otherwise Specified, but it also could be anorexia nervosa. It might not seem like much to you, but it can be just as deadly as bulimia or anorexia, you could still spiral out of control, trust me you don't want that. personally, i feel that you should sit down with your parents and talk to them, trust me they will be a lot more understanding than you think that they would be. it is important that you go see a doctor, because i still haven't seen a doctor and it is to the point that i might have to be hospitalized. please don't let it get to this point. |
