My friend has an eating disorder...? |
It's not official, she doesn't talk about it or anything, but everyone knows she has it. She is so skinny that when she wears an ordinary shirt, you can see her ribs. She is 14 years old, and fairly tall, maybe about 5'5 or 5'6, but a young girl's size 10 pants are too big on her. Even a random kid that she doesn't know yelled out to her in the hall the other day, "Hey, you, kid, eat something!" She hasn't been acting like herself lately; she's always been outgoing and fun but now she's quiet and hardly laughs at anything. I'm her best friend, but I feel like there's more distance between us every day. I want to help her, but I don't know what I can do...how should I approach her about it? I have EDNOS, and when it got severe last year, I acted pretty much the same way but was a child size 12-14 pants. A little taller than her, however. You can't force us to eat and demanding her to get help is no use, trust me. just tell her shes got to do something about it or she can really face death problems i mean come on everybody has to eat to live and maybe talk to to her mom maybe get her to the hospitail aright trry that if it doesent work then just let it be MINE 2, u know its great tht u wanna help but if she's the get mad type like my friend dont say anything bout it if shes not well just confront her nicely. its all in the tone and if she doesnt listen well thts her problem if she doesn't wanna b helped tell her she needs to eat.. ...... you need to tell her seriously i mean when things like this happen you need to just approach her about this...she can die from this..just watch her habits for a while too...if it gets worse telll ur counselor or tell her she needs help.....maybe invite her and only her over to ur house for a sleep over and bring alot of food see what she does i mean shes ur best friend i dont think she would deny that...if it gets way out of hand u need to tell someone maybe she has an older sibling tell her parents ur parents i know you dont want to rat her out but she really needs some help.....just say something |
