Anorexia/ eating disorder??? HELP!! really worried?

i have a little sister who tells me everything. but recently she's kinda stopped talking to me as much. i've noticed that she's lost some weight and also that i never really see her eat. i have asked her if anything is wrong and she denied it. she is 14 and i think she is about 105(guess) and 5'6ish she wears a size zero in pants and they are kinda big. so today we both had off from school so i decided to stay with her all day to see if she ate. so i saw her eat an apple for breakfast another apple for lunch and some rice cakes, then later a sugar free jello and so far for dinner a salad with cucumber's and lettuce but no dressing and a fruit popsicle. she also ran on the treadmill for aout half an hour. this sounds like she has an eating disorder to me but what do you think??
please don't say things like "oh this is really you" or something. its my sister

sounds like she's in trouble. go talk to your parents and get her help before it becomes something worse.

sounds like she needs some help..everything you have listed for food has little to no calories, two apples, sugar free jello, rice cakes, and lettuce with cucumber without dressing is around 200 calories give or take a few..that's nothing! she's 14, it's very important she gets her vitamins and nutrients to grow..tell your parents ASAP!!

Yeah, she's definitely getting there. Talk to your parents IMMEDIATELY. Get her some intervention. But DO NOT try and force feed her. Talk with her gently, ask her why she feels the need to eat so little. Get her to a doctor's and a therapist's as soon as you possibly can. Fix it now before she hurts herself any worse.

It doesn't sound like she has a disorder but it sounds like she can be at risk for it. I would watch it for a few more days/weeks to make sure. If it gets worse talk to to guidence at your school or to your parents.

I think she has one. I would never wish an ED onto anyone, especially someone that young. I'm struggling with an ED right now, and I don't want help; that's probably how she feels. She won't listen to you no matter what you say and she'll be mad at you if try to help her. I just want to talk to someone who understands how I feel and is not going to "help" me, and that's how she probably feels. Anorexia is a mental disorder, and you can either force her to get help and make her go through some traumatic stuff or just sit back and watch as she starves herself. There's not really any easy way out.

the rice cakes give it away. i have battled with an eating disorder since i was 12 on and off, and i know all of the tricks of the game. you should talk to her if you can and see whats up. shell probably get really defensive, but try to keep an eye on her and ask her again. believe it or not, as much as people with E.D.'s deny it and say that they dont want anyone involved, deep down it is a cry for attention and everytime they get a "omg your soooo skinny" is just more encouragment to keep going.

the sad part is, its very difficult for a person with an E.D. to get over it in their lifetime. i have had helped and my weight over the years has been at a high of 138 to a low of 102. and im naturally at 120 lbs. you never see yourself as good enough, and once your down low, you still dont see it. its very hard to approach someone with an e.d. but watch her eating habits and if shes been losing a lot of weight over a period of time, approach her again and say "hey ive noticed youve dropped way too much weight and you arnt looking good anymore". because its true, your hair starts to fall out and thin, your skin loses its glow, your face sinks in and you have really dark circles under your eyes. and that, is more embarressing than being a little chubby, because people dont say "haha your chubby!" like my boyfriends friend today said "dude why are your eyes so dark underneath them?? do you sleep ever? or eat?" people dont think twice when they cut you down that way.

but yeah just keep an eye out under her, hopefully its not too late, because shell be battling with it for the rest of her life.

Yup, sounds like it. You should talk to her, and your parents before it gets more serious.

She probably doesn't realize it's a problem yet. I didn't untl I was in the hospital. You should get her help asap with a doctor or therapist. It's a really horrible disorder and the worst part is most of the time, your in denial about it.

I wouldn't be too hard on her at all. Like I wouldn't tell her she's *too* skinny or the famous "you need to eat". Talk to her and tell her you know whats going and be supportive. Ask her if she wants to talk about it.

I found it was easier for myself to finally talk to someone (and know they wanted to actally TALK about it rather than an intervention.) Don't bomb her with tons of questions, just calmy tell her you want to talk about it and ask how she feels about herself and stuff.

Usually there is alot of guilt about it, so I would be carefull about telling her how its "hurting" people around her. Im sure she knows. I still feel terrible for putting my family through what I did.
