Skinny People RARELY Have Eating Disorders?

So why is that the automatic assumption?

I'm 5'10 and 125 lbs, so I consider myself at an average, healthy weight, but I only eat around 2100 calories a day, and I take 10 minute walks three times a week. I have to work to be at my size.

Now, I'm talking about actual skinny people - at 5'10, they'd be like 109 lbs. THEY ALL EAT LIKE PIGS, and they don't exercise. It's GENETIC.

Same with models. They usually don't have to eat healthy and workout like normal people. They're just naturally blessed. People on ANTM are shown eating big meals constantly.

99.99999% of those stick-thin girls just have extremely high metabolisms - I see them walking around with fast food and donuts.

Anorexics/Bulimics usually don't get all that thin, and if they do, it looks unnatural on them. They actually look SICK.

yea all those people are really lucky. my friend is like that she eats sooo much like i have seen her eat like 5 bowls of ice cream in a day on a regular basis and she is stick skinny and super tall and i know she gets annoyed when people think she has an eating disorder. and my other freind is really skinny 'cause she can't eat wheat so basically she can't eat any carbs and she gets the eating disorder thing too and hates it. but some girls of ANTM do have eating disorders like that girl allison said she used to be anorexic and then the other girls commented on how she always excerised and never really ate. and i love jaslene but she was way to skinny to not at least watch what she eats. also btw 2100 calories a day is above average most people have 2000 so now i am really jeaulous of you 'cause your so skinny.

Totally can agree with the question poster.
I'm 5"3 and i weigh about 87lbs, i have never ever ever put on an ounce of weight since the age of about 12, and i'm 15 now. I eat like the most piggiest pig on the farm. Honestly. For reals. And people have the NERVE to call me anorexic. I'm sick and tired of people assuming skinny people have eating disorders, it's just because they are insecure about their own bodies, but hey, at least i can eat whatever i like. I'm just sick to death of people thinking they know best, they should mind their own business.

Well, our society determines who is "skinny" or not by how they loo, not actually by their true weight. I'm about 5'5 and weight about 125. I have been called skinny my whole life. The thing is I have NEVER obsessed about what I eat. Others do that, they aways make insensitive comments because it is already assumed skinny people "work" to have their look. Untrue.Generally speaking, it is more desired in our society to be on the slimmer side. I bet you those who criticize you sure wouldn't mind being in your shoes.

Well, im 5'3 and 118lbs and people are always like OMG your so small. It is really annoying because I have two younger sisters that weigh like 10lbs more than me. I get called out at the most radom times. People are ask me " how do you stay so skinny?" I eat 3 meals a day like everyone else and the only excercise i get is walking to class on campus. I totally agree with you that the people who are bulimic or anorexic look obviously unhealthy.

yea my sister is 18 and weighs around 102 pounds and shes 5'8.
im 14, weigh about 109 and im 5'5.
it sux to be the one with the slow metabolism...
those girls on antm are just super lucky...
but some of them r bulimic and anorexic.

I think it's funny that you say you have to work to be at your size when you take three 10 minute walks a week. Not being mean or anything---but I used to be really fat---like reallyyy fat. I lost the weight with diet and exercise---long term. I worked out in the gym 3-4 hours a day---and even after I lost all the weight---I still had to work out an hour a day to maintain my weight. That's 5 days a week. So, anyway, it's all by comparison---you are comparing yourself to these 'naturally' skinny girls with high metabolism--and you think you have it rough. Try being one of those people (like me) who have to bust our humps hours a day everyday for the rest of our lives to stay at a healthy weight. :)
