Ive been researching eating disorders and need help with something?

every person that has asked whether they will lose weight from not eating has been told they lose muscle and their bodies store fat.
is this still the case if the person is excercising?
if they are not eating an awful lot and excercising does this mean they're burning the fat their body will have stored from not eating?
all answers appreiciated

It's true and it's not. The body's first response to prolonged periods of not eating is that it will store fat from any food sources ingested. That's the metabolism slowing down. It's preparing your body for what it thinks will be a long time without food. If a person doesn't eat for long enough, however, their body will start digesting the stored fat as a way to survive.

Your body won't start metabolising your muscles until it has exhausted other sources of protein. So if you stop eating then, yes, you will lose muscle.

Yes, exercise will help burn calories, the easiest source to burn after simple sugars and carbs, is fat.

Anorexia Nervosa(the disorder I'm assuming you're researching) is a horrible disease. Not only do you lose regular muscle tone, but your body will start using any available resouce to survive. The calcium out of bones, the proteins in organs, the water from your tissues. It takes years off of the lifespan because of the irreversable damage it can cause.

If a person isn't eating it doesn't matter if they're exercising or not, they won't gain muscle because they're not receiving enough nutrients. They also aren't burning the fat they're body has stored because their body is living off that fat since they are eating very little if anything. It's not a good idea to eat hardly anything and exercise because you will easily get dizzy, and have a strong chance of fainting.

They can't get muscle bc they are not receiving enough nutrients

again you will burn muscle. your body needs fuel in order to gain muscle. that person will not make any new muscle and will actually lose the muscle they have. not just the muscle from your arms and legs but the heart muscle and the brain. you dont actually burn fat either though.
