Laxatives for eating disorders? |
Which laxatives work best? Actually laxatives don't work. The food is already abosrbed into the body through the small intestine not large intestine (which is where laxatives work). It's not a healthy alternative...but any eating disorder isn't healthy. Aside from them not working how you think, they pose alot of health risks. Dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and the worst - paralyzed bowel (where your bowels stop working because you are dependent on laxatives). unfortunately it is just as bad for you to do things that way. Maybe couselling or a doctor could help you but taking advice about that sort of thing from here will only hurt you further. A girl in my school who used to take laxatives now has chromic diarrhea, for real this happens. She had to be hospitalized for severe abdominal pain and now can't control going to the bathroom anymore. It is definately not a safe alternative to eating disorders, it scares me :( No, it's not healthy at all. Does anything SOUND healthy about being stuck on the pot all day? no laxatives should only be used when you are severely constipated. you can really really ruin your intestines with them. plus, it sucks having to sh*t every 10 minutes all day you can't even do anything after you take it. err... I don't know sorry, just go on a diet or something for ages, and the gym. on tesco diets, its really good, it has all types of recipies, i havent been on it but i know who has |

You have nothing to fear, you can be totally honest. Eating disorders are usually don't require inpatient treatment (being sent away). I believe your friend must have had many other problems... You can't try to figure out if, why, how, etc. Miscarriages are nature's way of sorting out the healthy babies. If you miscarried it means it wasn't growing properly or it wouldn... Well when people look at their body image negatively, they look for ways to fix it, like by simply dieting. But often enough dieting becomes extreme, resulting in eating disorders. or people go und... wanting to lose weight for swimsuit season ISN'T an eating disorder. and you can't " go anorexic " please think a little more about what some people with actual eating disorders... Just because you are sharing your story on here doesnt mean that you dont have a problem I respect you for asking for help dealing with such a serious situation. People need help, need to talk and...
