How have you gotten over an eating disorder?

Also, while I'm sort of ready to admit that it's a present, constant part of my life, I have a hard time verbalizing it. I guess I somehow feel that if I don't give it a name, it's not really there, that if I never say it, maybe one day it won't exist. I've had extreme anxiety concerning food for as long as I can remember and I suppose it was always just a matter of time. I realize that it's disgusting, but at the same time it's almost...well..comforting if that makes any sense.

i have never had one, but i know people who have. i don't think its something you just get over. its pretty much with you forever... all the people i know still struggle with it although they have been healthy for years. you have to be tough and get help is all i can say. once you are healthy there is still a struggle there.

I used to have a problem with eating too much. Then I got too fat and decided to starve myself. It didn't work because I liked to eat, but I got another idea. I learned how to make myself barf, so I became bulimic for about six months. After that, I was normal again. Now I think I'm eating too much, I have to eat less and exercise more...a lot more. Maybe I should start exercising everyday for like 3 hours or more maybe. I'm going to go on the treadmill right now.

To be honest its hard and take it slowly, don't just stop at once the only way i managed is by taking all meals. if you skip meals you are definately heading for trouble you will get attracted to any food that comes your way especially junk.
after taking your full meals the next step will be to reduce the potions then you will be under control.

i fell in love, became a vegan, and started doing yoga. now my weight is fine, and i'm happier.

i used to be anorexic/bulimic. it was pretty bad. i still have "bad" thoughts sometimes...but it's like any addiction..you have to stop thinking that way. it takes strength of will!

I have it, it is so hard, find good things to snack on. Carrots, fat free or sugar free puddings and jello's, low fat milk, look for the low fat and low carb, don't eat anything white, bread, sugar..deadly

I'm currently trying to recover. But it's really hard. I feel like I can see every pound I gain.

i did! you see once time i was boarderline anorexic, but some how when it was just starting to get bad, i began to take control. Im a normal weight now

No.. been struggling for 6 years now.. I don't think I will ever get over it. :(

go to the gym.
