If you think you have an eating disorder, who would you tell? |
Note that I said "you think". You have a need to tell one person what you might think, sort of just to get it out, who? Please tell your parents. But please let me tell you who "not" to tell. Please don't tell any of your friends. When you tell one friend a secret, you might as well be telling two or three people you don't know. As much as friends really mean well for you and they say they can keep a secret, they can't. They will tell someone, and if you live in a small town, within a week, it would be known. Your parents will go through this with you, they can help you get thru this and past this, and also help you get the support you need. You are very brave and smart to be asking this question when you're "thinking that this might be happening. Perhaps there is an adult family friend that you can talk to first, maybe someone your mom totally trusts and have them there with you when you talk with your parents. I have an eating disorder. well i had one but i didn't tell any one. my sister found out. but if i had to tell someone i would tell my sister cuz i don't have parents that r around and we've always been really close. so tell someone you r really close with and git help. i got help and i fill so much better. so far i have gained 20 pounds but i was down to 60 pounds. at some points in my life i felt like i was going to die. so before it gits to bad git help and you well fill so much better i promise. Do not tell a friend unless you really trust them, otherwise they'll just blurt it out to the world. Tel someone you know will help you. If not a parent, tell a teacher or a counselor. I've told a few friends, and they weren't the one's to trust, they told everyone...Now everyone thinks of me differently, just because I have anorexia nervosa. Get help.Fast. Don't wait till it's too late and you end up in the hospital I would say everything Tata said and also seek for a doctor (Physician help). and don't be afraid nowadays it is really normal having this kind of problem, you just need to be strong to assume it and seek for help. well my best friend parents I told my Best Friend. |
