My friend is developing an eating disorder. how can i help stop this?

how i can i help stop this before it develops into an eating disorder. shes a model, actress, singer, and dancer. they put lots of pressure on her to lose weight so much for the past few years.. it think it psychologicaly starting to take a toll on her. all she ever thinks about is losing weight, how much she eats, how many calories she eats, how many she has left, and she has unrealistic views on her body and how much shes eating. she'll eat a piece of toast with nothing on it and a bowl of soup and three strawberries all day and think oh my god i ate way too much im so fat and feel so guilty. shes aware that what shes doing is on the verge of an eating disorder and knows she needs to stop it before it gets there, but she cant figure out how to stop these thoguhts. shes already struggling with stomach issues as it is in and out of the hospital. and now her answer to a stomach ache for eating too much is laxatives. i dont want her to get more sick or go into a hospital. help her

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do personally to stop her. This is something she can't control on her own and she needs professional help. You should talk to her parents so they are aware and can seek medical treatment for her. I think it will only get worse until she gets some treatment. My best to you and your friend.

Unless you are a doctor or a psychologist, you can not.

So sorry to hear about your friend. This mindset can be so self damaging. You know what you are doing can hurt you but don't want to stop.
Is she under 18? If so it might be time to talk to her parents. If she is over 18, talking to her parents might still be a good idea but more so direct her to http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/. I don't know much about them but I would assume they could direct her to a support group.
You can also be supportive which I am sure it will be helpful for her to know that she has an ally in the fight. For me, it was a new relationship (and some problems) that finally knocked me out of it.
