How can I control my eating disorder.?

I am 15, kinda short (5 ft 4) and 140 lbs. Ever since I became a freshman, I've had an eating disorder, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Every time I look in the mirror all i'm thinking of are ways to get thinner, and instead of eating lunch, I walk around the school grounds and hallways. I even joined my track team to get thinner, and It's worked like a charm. I also excercise on the weekends, and often don't have breakfast anymore. I know it's not healthy to be doing this, but I've tried every other way to get thin and it hasnt worked. I end up feeling clinically depressed during the week, my grades are failing, and I feel I am close to breaking point. What should I do? Please help!

PLEASE DON'T listen to the answers telling you what to do to lose weight. That was NOT her question people!

First of all, I know excatly how you feel. I'm recoving from bulimia. I'm 21 and have been bulimic since I was 16. I had the same thoughts about food and weight since I can remember. Most people are very misguided when it comes to eating disorders, and people who haven't experienced them often don't understand how to treat them (hence the above answers). I think the best thing for you to do for yourself is to visit a therapist/social worker who specializes in eating disorders, or you could go to Eating Disorders Anonymous or Overeaters Anonymous meetings which are free (check if they have meetings in your city...if you google it, it should take you to their websites. also overeaters anonymous isn't just for overeaters, they support anyone who recognizes food is a problem in their life including anorexics/bulimics). therapy groups for people with eating disorders are also very helpful.

it's important for you to remember that none of this is about food or weight. I know that's so hard to realize, even for me, but it's so true. try to identify what things in your life are causing you to feel negative emotions. for me it was my circle of friends in school who always subtly made fun of the way I looked/acted/dressed, combined with the fact that boys were never interested in me, but were always attracted to my friends. stop reading cosmopolitan, shape, instyle, vogue, etc. because most magazines tend to burn the image you probably already have in your head of the body your eating disorder wants you to have.

I didn't realize this until I was older, but try to remember that life isn't about weight or how anyone looks AT ALL. the way models and actresses look and how thin they seem is such a tiny part of what the world is all about. when you're 100 years old, do you want to look back on your life and worry about how you should have been thinner, or do you want to smile about all the wonderful connections you made with people you love and doing things that make you happy? your eating disorder prevents you from living a full life, because you start putting off hanging out with friends because you're "not thin enough yet" etc. we only get one chance at this life, so don't let anyone else's ideas of what the perfect body may be dictate the way you life your life.

your bmi is fine and a lot of people skip breakfas although you shouldnt it can cause you to gain weight because instead of burning away the calaries it would with breakfast it stores them or something like that if you need to seek pro help stay on your track team its great excersise and try to incorporate a healthy eating plan and strtetch a lot i hear it helps

skipping breakfast is one of the worst things you can do to loose weight. When you skip out on meals your body adapts to this situation and as a result you absorbe more stuff from your foods and store more fat in the places that matter. In order to avoid this, you should eat 6 HEALTHY, and reasonably sized meals a day ever 3 hours. It may sound rediculous but its true.

The trick is to not worry about it. Stay tough to the gym and overtime you will cut the gut and lose the weight.

If your desperate, you can look into thermogenic weight burners such as hydroxycut.

you don't need to starve yourself to be thin!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all you have to do is be healthy! look for low calorie foods for meals and if you want a snack just eat fruit! an apple will fill you up and it's low calorie and healthy. don't do this to yourself! you won't make any progress and you will end up in the hospital. you don't want that now do you! look at mary kate and ashley olsen they are anorexic freaks you don't want people to think that about you! if this doesn't help you should see a therapist or a doctor. you may need proffessional help if you can't control it!
