Bulimia or Binge eating disorder? |
i'm not sure whether i have bulimia or binge eating disorder, about 3 times a week i binge, i eat around 4000 calories in one day. i hate doing it everytime i say to myself, right this is the last time, never again. then a few days later it just happens like out of my control. i dont gain weight though because i fast the next day and the lbs i gained from binging come off. but i read that people who binge then fast are bulimic so i'm not sure which one it is. i dont purge or anything just fast the next day. This has been going on for about a year, it all started in attempt to lose weight, i'm still desparate to lose weight! yes i have been diagnosed with having bulimic tendency's so the other answerer is wrong i do the same..and also exercise a lot.please check this site out to explain to you. There are different variations of bulimia, so it is possible you have bulimic tendencies. An ED isn't just about food tho, it's also if you have serious self esteem issues and cannot stand the sight of your body. You probably binge because you fast, most people do that. When you starve your body, it goes into "famine" mode and wants to eat everything in sight, which is why you binge. I don't want to lecture but I hope you stay healthy because fasting and binging is considered extreme dieting and not good for you, especially in the long run. All the best <3 While it may not be a textbook definition of bulemia, it is definitely some form of eating disorder, or the start of an eating disorder. I'd ask my family doctor about it, or look into my local community service board for more information. You may also actually just have a problem with over eating, which could be helped by overeaters anonymous. Check into it, if you're worried about your behavior, there's probably a good reason to be so. You're not bulimic. Purging, whether by making yourself vomit or taking laxatives, after a binge is the only real definition of being bulimic. You just happen to have binges because of your fasts. this site may help this is non-purging bulimia (yes it does exist) See a doctor. |
