Please help. eating disorder issue? |
hiya. This is quite hard so please bare with me. For most of my adult life, I have had eating problems. I've always had those little voices niggling away. I've always felt over weight, but I've never gone so far as to say I have an eating disorder. This year has probably been the hardest. I have been suffering with depression (alone) and havent been out much. I'm always so down about my weight, and was convinced I'd put on at least 2 stone. It doesn't matter if you are not small. They are medical professionals and they know that you do not have to be skinny to have an eating disorder. In saying this, a general practitioner is not going to be much help you really need to see a specialist and the Dr will give you a referral. It will probably be to a councilor or similar as you need to talk about this with someone who can help you combat these daemons before they take over your life. Best of luck with it you would be able to talk to the doctor. don't worry they wont laugh at you, and they will help you get around your problem. i hope everything goes well for you. if u want to talk i'm online on aim. my screename is TheBTPYoda. i don't really know how to help u unless we talk. bc i can't really give u a one line answer for u. just offering. no pressure. How much do you weigh ? It's always difficult to look at yourself after you havent been doing so. Going to the dr's about something like that isn't so bad and i know how you feel. The best way to cope with it is to level out the situation. If you think to yourself if i don't go what will i do. If it's something like i'm going to carry on my life like i have been and considering your not comfortable with that then the best thing to do is just say i want to change and tehn walk in to the dr's. Also sometimes its good if you bring someone with you just to reassure in the waiting room that your doing this for you and no-one is making you do it. Knowing that it's your own decision is always a boost. |
