I have an eating disorder and i want someone to talk to but won't know it's me. What should I do? You may want to rethink that statement. Having someone to talk to about it who DOES know who you are can make things much easier to work out - they can help you to understand why you're doing what you're doing and help you work on what sort of treatment is best for you. Try many cities and states have teen and adult crisis lines which ARE anonymous, and if you call one of them, they can probably send you looking in the right direction for help. Also, remember. There is such a thing as doctor-patient privilege. And all medical practitioners (including psychologists) are expected to uphold those privileges unless there are cases of danger - suicide attempts or abuse cases. I would try going there first. Also, there may be a program you can get into that has group counseling where meetings are supposed to be anonymous. I would sugget that you do a search online for groups that meet & chat sharing & caring alike~ There certainly are groups out there you simply need to find them! Do a search within Yahoo groups or WebMd or Ivillage.com Also you can check out the care2 network[ its easy to make your own group & fun making your page & its FREE!...it is an awesome avenue for people who share & care alike about topics that they are so very driven about. Whether it be Animals rights, or Abuse, Dieting or vegetarians ideas...the lists are neverending! It is FREE...you can even make your 'own' group, by setting up a page[its easy] and people will 'join you'...that may be your perfect answer! I strongly encourage you tp pursue this endeavor. KUDO's to you for 'recognizing' your disorder and having the desire to face it & overcome! You have already made some of the most important steps towards being in control of 'you'...which is a very powerful position# I wish you the strength & self worth to meet this challenge! Take care~ While I would agree with other posters who say you are best served by a therapist who knows you and your individual situation and has experience with eating disorders, which can be very dangerous, if you want online anonymous help there are resources for you. I'm glad you're seeking help. What sort person do you have in mind? A therapist? Understanding and sympathetic adult? Another teen? Folks here in YA won't get much more anonymous so you could try here. There are web sites that can help you find a professional. Are you concerned for your health? i agree with the last person. it is probly better to talk to someone you know and know well. because they will probly be way more sympathetic or want to help you and listen better than someone you dont know Check out Pro-Ana or Pro-Recovery websites. |

If shes a true friend then she'll understand and maybe even help you out on the down low ...anorexics usually consume between 100 and 500 calories a day. depending on how whether or not they're fasting. obviously, on a fast the calorie intake is usually under 10 cals. anorexics us... Nothing, this is normal. ...Start off small. Rather than eating a whole healthy meal, start with a tiny slice of apple. Then the next day, start building up until you can eat a whole one. Take your time; think long term, woul... It doesn't matter if you are not small. They are medical professionals and they know that you do not have to be skinny to have an eating disorder. In saying this, a general practitioner is not... i haven't before, but you should do it before you get out of control and start to disappear (no pun? intended or anything.) don't be afraid because taking this first step and calling... im doubt that doctors would laugh at you... even if you were 500 pounds and had a eating disorder.... im 15 and i always think im fat...i recently was on a diet.... ya i lost 5 pounds in 5 days... |
