Possible Eating Disorder? |
I am 14 years old and I am 5'6" and weigh about 105 lbs. I'm pretty much fixated on everything I put into my mouth and I also count calories. I usually don't skip meals or anything, but I'm always thinking that I'm really fat and chubby or whatever. My parents and friends tell me that I'm thin and that I need to eat more because I worry them. My best friend even made me promise her that I wouldn't go anorexic. I don't think I'm going to go anorexic because I'm not that messed up, but I hate feeling this way! Do you think I really am fat? Or do you think I should go see a professional? Thank you in advance! 105 is very slim for 5'6. Careful. If you want to look great and skip meals, try a juicer. You can put in a carrot, some spinach, and an apple and get a full meals worth of nutrients without the calories. This way, you won't look like a scarecrow. You'll be glowing with health. Not very slim, just slim. I don't think you're anorexic, yet. You might just have a naturally fast metabolism and at 14, there's nothing you can do about it because you're going through puberty. At your height, your weight does seem a little low. I would be worried if you continued to think that you are chubby. Counting calories and being conscientous about what you eat is not always a bad thing. However, obsessing over it constantly and over-reacting to an extra calorie or two is dangerous territory. If you don't let yourself get full or are very restrictive, then maybe you should seek help. Maybe go to one or two sessions to see if you might be developing a problem. But most important, you need to realize you are not fat. i had the same problem when i was like 15-16. I was like 118 pounds or something and i thought i was chubby and i wouldn't eat anything all day except for breakfast. Ooh, at 5'4" I was 125 pounds and a sexy little thing. My measurements were 36, 24, 36 and I never felt conscious about my weight or size. Of course, I had parents that always told me I was smart, beautiful and talented... so who knows? You are too skinny by any standard test, so feel free to eat! i think its good that u think this way, but i definitely think u should go c a professional. i mean, wats wrong w/ going to c someone? JUST EAT ANYTHING,,,,,,,,,,,don't be concerned......people who weigh 300 pounds or more are the happiest people I'm the same way as you. My lunch table is always nagging me about how I really don't have to count cals and look at nutrition facts, but I just want to be healthy and thin. What I do is just eat lots and LOTS of fruits and veggies. I looked at a chart and saw that for your height, the low range is about 120 lbs. So even though you think so, you are definitely not fat. It's annoying having people tell you that, I know, but this is factual proof. You aren't anorexic, so I wouldn't go to a professional. Just be careful. :) lilactress<333 |
