Is my eating disorder only going to get worse or will i be able to defeat it on my own? |
I used to be overweight and weighed 150 pounds and 5'1 up to the end of 8th grade when i lost 30 pounds over not even 2 months before freshman year. I lost the weight by eating less than 500 calories every day or nothing at all. I though i would be fine because i was able to stop and was happy with myself about the weight loss, I mantained the weight by eating on and off. Im now in the last couple days of my sophomore year and i lost more wieght, i weigh 105. I now have an eating disorder and i go from not eating for days or i eat and throw up. i never let food stay in ym stomach. sometimes i have binges and purge afterwards because i cant help myself. but then i go to the other extreme and just dont eat and i faint and black out all of the time. also, i finally had the courage to tell my best friend about this shes a mess. i dont know what to do anymore. i want to be ok but i dont want to stop. please give me any advice or anything u think would help.. It can be more helpful if you talked to the specialist regarding such matter because they know what's best for such condition. I know what youre going through, I have an eating disorder, but I'm a guy. I'm 6'2 180, i go for months eating 2000 calories a day of non-processed foods - all natural. I excercise to the extreme, borderline obsessive. Then I would just crack and go on a month long binge, eating as much as I can for a month, then back in the gym for 5 months....I need help, but being a guy I do not know who to talk to. i don't think you're that underweight, i'm taller than you and i weigh 102. OHNO; so i'm underweight?! anyway, i think you should get help from a responsible adult, you may be able to defeat it on your own if you REALLY want to... don wanna scare u but u could die plz try eating at least 700 calories a day you will not put weight on you'll just be giving ur body enough fuel to try run a bit btr get help. talk to your parents, a counselor, whatever Eating disorders aren't healthy, and you won't be able to stop yours all by yourself. It is great that you told your best friend, but now you should tell your family members, your doctor, all of your friends, and your school guidance counselor so that they can all help you to get on a normal eating schedule. Fainting and blacking out regularly are very bad! Realize that you are hurting yourself, and get help immediately. Anorexia and bilimia are not the way to go, and make you weak and fragile for your whole life. I learned all about this in health. Call a 1-800 number that you can find on google to also get help if you don't want to tell your family and friends. Go to kidshealth.com also! I too suffer from an eating disorder. They are surprisingly easy to get into but such dangerous and vicious cycles. I've been trying for months to get over it on my own, and so far I haven't had much luck. It takes a lot of strength, especially so when you're going it alone. I would suggest you get some help, even though that would be a bit hypocritical of me to say since I have yet to do the same. But I wish you good health and I hope you make the right decision. Brianna first off get rid of the word diet you are setting yourself up for failure. You need to make a lifestyle change. It doesnt sound like you are over weight right now but if you are just take your weight multiply it by ten thats what your body needs just to survive. and add 500 calories a day to that and you will maintain a healthy weight. also its important to put the right nutrients in . You are in controll of putting the right fuel into your body. you need to turn this situation around you controll it doesnt controll you. Also you need to know by not putting the right nutrients into your body you are weekening your immune system making yourself suseptible to all kinds of disease. I am involved in a nutitional product that you should check out also buy yourself a calorie counting book make your own calorie counting lifestyle change. Dont try to follow someonr elses diet especially if you dont like the foods that are in it . Your in the drivers seat .Best of luck in acheiving your goals. Take good healthy care You can email me and I will give you my website on nutrition pennygass@yahoo.com you need to figure out what it is that your afraid of. Is it food? Is it being fat? is it losing control of your life? figure it out. But in the meantime FOCUS on eating a balanced diet. Eat healthy foods, and lots of them! you are going to cause damage to your body if it doesnt get the nutrients it needs and then what will you do? if you cant keep down food, then you cant even take vitamin supplements. Every girl goes through what you are going through. worrying about thier weight, but when you are passing out from malnuristment, that is VERY DANGEROUS. Think about what it is that you are afraid of and I'd suggest taking supplements, you can get spray vitamins that work great, and taste good too. i use them. find em at www.vitamist.com. |
