I have an eating disorder.. what do I do?

I'ved had Bulimia for the last 4 1/2 years... For awhile It was a secret that I kept to myself,. it almost became normal, you know? Recently within the last year I realized how sick I was when I was soooo tired all the time.. working two jobs, and felt like crap all the time. I'm an average girl 5'3 about 140. I never really lost weight.. it was a control thing for me.. I've tried going to doctors, moral support groups.. nothing seems to make me feel any better... Any advice on some positive things that might help? I'd just love to talk with some one that relates. I don't want any pitty... I just don't know what else to do...

I am with a counsoler now.. some one who works with people with eating disorders.. but like I said, I feel like it's doing nothing. I'd talk with my family but they don't understand. as far as friends? I don't have hardly any, none that I'd talk to about it.

try helplines and tell your parents, they can help you more than a handful of strangers can. :)

Good luck.

Good for you to recognize that you have a problem.

Bulimia usually has to do with your self confidence. Who among your friends makes you feel good about yourself?
Maybe that is the person who you can confide in. Make sure you hang out with the right group of people - you need to have as much support as possible.

Have you considered speaking to a therapist? Or getting some books at the local store? Consider everything, even going back to a support group. It sounds like you really want to help yourself, so do it.

Good luck. You can do it.

There are really good social workers who specialize in eating disorders and they are not judgemental, you just need to find someone you really like and feel comfortable with. They will help you realize why you are bulimic and will help you stop the behavior. My mom specializes in it and has huge success with people who really want to stop so I know it works. Good luck! BTW start taking a multi vitamin, you are probably missing some nutrients and thats why your feeling tired and crappy.

A counselor. Someone with a MS or PHD or PSYD in that field.

Plus a good nurtrianist. So you can diet the right way, however most of the time its more about control. Maybe only work one job if thats possible and just brethe.
