Eating disorder? Is this normal?

I dont really know if I have an eating disorder, doctors think I do but im pretty confused right now so if it makes sense to say im not sure.. im not sure lol so im not in denial really i think im past that... maybe.

But im 5'1 and i weigh 36kg and im 14. Ive been on a food plan in the last two weeks and have gone up by half a kg.

The thing is its made me really upset to increase my weight even though i know its what people want me to do. But in my mind its not right, people shouldnt want to increase their weight they should want to decrease it. Does anyone else feel the same?

So anyway it makes me want to not eat again because it makes me panic. I dont know how to get over this way of thinking if its wrong?

Or do i actually need to lose this weight?

Because sometimes doctors are wrong and its true that different people have different body shapes isnt it?

Arghh does anyone have any advice??

36 kg = 79lbs

Try some online help.. I guess it can help you contact some expert counselors regarding eating disorders

you have anorexia nervosa. what you view as your body is not the way it actually looks. your selfimage is skewed by a lack of self esteem causing you to obsess over your weight. seek a therapist that specializes in eating disorders. Tell your family you want therapy or tell your school counselor.

It's not healthy to be over or under weight. Being underweight can mean that you don't have enough nourishment. Your immune system may not work as well, you have a greater risk of osteoporosis, and you may become infertile. and about attraction, most people I know don't think it's attractive to have ribs and other bones showing through the skin.

Yeah, you definetely need to gain weight. I'm only 5'4" and I weigh 115 pounds...almost 40 pounds heavier than you. And I'm not obese by any means...I'm a happy, healthy size 5.
"People shouldn't want to increase their weight they should want to decrease it." I don't agree with that at all. When you look unhealthy, you need to gain weight. Only if you are obese or have a little "extra baggage" should you want to lose weight.
Dear, please listen to your doctors and go see a counselor. They are right. Being too skinny can cause many health problems...you're only 14 and you want a beautiful body, right? You can stunt your growth if you keep this up and you may never develop as you were supposed to. Trust me, if there's one thing I learned from my mom (who was anorexic as a teenager), you don't want to stunt your growth!! Stick with your weight gaining diet!
Good luck! :)
