Eating disorder, and why does one mind want two different things?

I have such ridiculous phobia's about food. I once was at the stage where I'd talked myself out of almost every food and was walking round the supermarket really hungry and almost crying that I had nothing left to eat! I'm not at that stage now but I still dont eat seafood, meat, milk/butter/margarine, and have so many ridiculous phobia's about foods I do eat (you can imagine it has to be cooked like this, stored like this etc etc). Over and above this, I am so fussy about cleanliness as well.

Can anyone tell me how it is that I know myself these thoughts are all crazy, and want to change them, but it seems like there's another part of my brain that wont allow it?

strange, not in a bad way though... i'm not sure what it could be, but it sure sounds like a mental ilnes, something that has to do with phobias.. i use to do something strange with my mouth and couldnt stop myself, even when i wanted to, it irritated the crap out of me... i suggest you go see your doctor, he might just hav the answer to your problem... goodluck..

If you don't mind me saying it sounds like you have a compulsive disorder. Which is very common. But, if you try do something once week so out of your routine eventually you'll start to realise that its ok to eat certain foods. And don't worry bout being a fussy eater, we all are!!!!

TAKE ACTION!!!!!!! I had a nail bitting thing so anytime some one is around which there always was I would tell them smack my hand if I bite my nails and that worked alot so you just have to tell ppl you are around to remind you about it!!!!!

I think you need theropy. or like a hypno person..
Im sure you can do anything if you REALY want to.
People say it's mind over matter but in your case it will have to be matter over mind

I've never heard of an eating disorder like the one you have. Contact your doctor about seeing a specialist for this issue because right now you're putting your health.. and your life at risk.
