Eating disorder inpatient?

how long do people typically stay in a hospital for an eating disorder? i'm starting inpatient soon, and i was wondering how long i should go for. i'm really thinking about two weeks, but i wasn't sure if that would help too much. also, how much do you typically gain in a week? i'm around 78-80 pounds now, and if i gained 5 pounds a week i'd be up to the 90's when i was done..would that be sufficient enough to go home?

thanks!

i don't throw up. and i would honestly work toward recovery at home.

staying at a hospital for months just terrifies me.

its when they think your ready to go home and they think you can sustain a normal healthy weight

I really can't answer your question about actual hospital stays as an inpatient, but some of the articles included in my blog may help on eating disorders. My blog contains both newsworthy and personal articles, and is dedicated to mental illness. Also included are many links. You may find me at:

Take care.

no! you can't go home in 2 weeks after weighing 90 pds and throw up for a week to get rid of it.It's harder than that.
you will be shown how to change the way you think about food and body image.it will take a while but it can be done....
