Recovering from an eating disorder... How long should I exercise for each day? |
10, 20, 30mins, 1 hour? under eating (anorexia) As long as you cater a regular exercise a day for about 30 mins. I guess that would be fine. eating disorders are OFTEN accompanied by the desire to over-exercise as a way to control your body / your life. it can get all intertwined. if your recovering from an eating disorder and you have been eating healthy you should still be exercising for 30 minutes each day. thats what EVERY one should be doing. but in your case maybe you should start off with a little bit maybe for 15 minutes or just when you work up a sweat. It's okay to do two times a day, for up to 30 minutes one day, one hour the next, but you want to ask your doctor coz I'm not good at this kinda thing. I'm the sort who will exercise all day and get thrown in rehab for losing twenty pounds in a month if I'm not careful to remember to eat some stuff and pace myself before going back to the doctor.... Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Do not go on fast or starvation diet. I would say a normal, healthy exercise routine should last for about 30 minutes to 1 hour maybe 3 times a week. If you're recovering from an eating disorder, I would say take it slowly and don't fall into old patterns. Hi Sara, Depends on how hard you plan to exercise. Definetly no more than 1 hour. And don't over do it. Take it easy on your body - it still needs to heal. Since you're recovering, I'd say maybe a half an hour jogging? Or you can take the dog for a walk if you have one. Nothing strenuous though. 3 hrs a day max, it is not good to exercise more than that becuz your going to be putting alot of stress on your body, can you help me with a question now please!! Its healthy to excercise 30 min 4-5 times a week. Just make sure you don't push yourself too hard and are eating properly as well. just enough to be healthy. thats the goal. BE HEALTHY. if you loose weight, stop excersicing so much. just try different things and get to kow your limits. It depends. Overeating or under eating? what kind of eating disorder? To avoid my being the cause of your first heart attack I recommend you ask your doctor. im guessing....start at 10 then slowly build up |
