Do you think that once you have an eating disorder you will always have it? Or is it possible to completely...

get over it?

youngwarrior, it is not about overeating...........

You can completely get over the disorder, but it is often the case that the reasons you developed it in the first place stay with you for a long time, if not forever.

Many people completely get over their disorders by changing their other symptoms (anxiety, self-disgust or self-dislike, need for control, obsessions/compulsions, perfectionism) into more adaptive, productive habits. It's not easy, and usually requires a lot of therapeutic work, but I've seen it happen.

it is possible to completely get over it with the right therapy and help and support. i used to have a eating disorder because i think the government would kill you if you were over a certain weight and i became anorexic. but now i have overcome it and maintain a healthy weight. good luck

i could be mean and say just put down the fork. but there is alot of ways too get over it and there easy you can try taking it day by day and just decreases how much you eat by eating the right things because theres certain foods that you only have to eat one serving.

I have struggled with my eating disoder for over 30 years now, and its hard!
I just have to take it litteraly a meal at a time.
Yes it is possible to get to the underlining problems, but for me it will always be an issue.
Good Luck :)

you will always have the temptation you have to fight it and see if there is any group you can get with to help you when you feel like you are going to relapses.
