I cut myself and i think i have an eating disorder? |
i don't know what to do. i'm really scared. i have taken about 15 online eating disorder tests, and i think i have one. and i have been self-harming for about 7 years. As much as it sounds like the hardest and most embarrassing thing in the world, you should talk to your parents. If you're too scared to go to them by yourself, then ask a friend to come with you. I've seen lots of situations where the parents were happier that their children came and told them than when they had to find out for themselves. You need to see a doctor, and how are you going to do that without your parents knowing? I really think that once you set your mind to it, it's not that hard. Before you talk to them, go through in your head how you are going to approach them. It will make things a lot easier if you don't beat around the bush. Please, do yourself the favor and tell your parents. They will be proud of you for having the guts to ask them for help. I think it would break their hearts if you didn't go to them. After awhile, it'll be obvious that something is wrong. If you tell them first, things will be a lot easier. And remember, talking it over with a friend first and having them come with you will help boost your courage. Go to your parents, it may break there hearts but it would break there heart even more if they loose you. I went thru that when i was young, it was a silent call out for help. I felt like i deserved the pain cutting caused, some how it made me feel better, and i would eat and eat in front of everyone, but as soon as i could get to the bathroom i would throw up. Let me advise you to stop!! Please whatever the eating disorder is it will harm you. Your hair will fall out, your periods will get off wack, your face will start breaking out, you will distroy your body. Im sure you are fine the way you are. I was 5'7 and 130lbs and thought i was the biggest thing there was. It was all in my head. Go to your parents, they love you and would be able to get you the help you need, you cant do it yourself, good luck!! If you have been self-harming for seven years and you also have an eating disorder, your parents HAVE TO BE TOLD. Hey i know what you are going through i have an eating disorder and anxiety but i do cut or purge anytime i eat to much or get over welm with being fat i think you need to tell them before it ruins your life and idk i wouldn't truely trust those test online but i think you know in your heart you have a problem..my eating disorder start out of need for control and fear of becoming fat..a good book you could buy and try to get over it your self is called A life without ED [ED stands for eating disorder] please get help depression which cause cutting also can turn into an eating disorder you need to tell your parents that you have a problem so they can help you. please talk to them as if something happened to you and they didn't know they would feel awful. yeah yahoo answers can't help you on this one your SICK you need to go see a doctor you can't make your life better asking people overo nline you need to go see docotrs and get better your rents will def would rather have a living healthy child than a dead one As a parent I would rather have my child come to me for help rather than keep this from me. Keeping it a secret from me is what would break my heart. Talk to your parents, consult counselors that are specifically trained in eating disorders and are very committed to helping people recover. Talk to your parents immediately!!! You need to tell your parents even if the truth hurts or ask your friends or talk to someone you trust |
