Will it sabotage my chances of getting into college if I get treatment for my eating disorder, I'm a junior.

I've had an eating disorder for a few years and people are just finding out about it. But I don't want to get treatment until my senior year is over. Or does it really matter if I wait? Will good colleges reject me if I have a history of mental illness?

But if the school has your medical recorrds then they will see it. Why would any school want to take someone who is mentally unstable?

I guess you should get a treatment for your condition. You can try an Adolescent Eating Disorder Outpatient Program. This program is appropriate for young women between the ages of twelve and eighteen suffering from an eating disorder.

GET TREATMENT FOR YOUR DISORDER!!! Your health should always come first. What if something serious happens to you before you even get a chance to apply for school? Besides, i'm 98% sure colleges have no way of finding that stuff out, nor do they care. The only medical records they ask from you are your shots. Take care of yourself.

It will sabotage your chances of having a healthy, happy and long life if you DON'T... so please, get treatment!

Also, I'm pretty sure a college couldn't reject you based on something like that. You'd have a good civil suit against them if they did - and that's something they wouldn't want to risk.

Go get treatment. Put your health first. First of all, it's none of any institution's business, and they won't find out unless you report it. Go get some treatment, get better, and I'm sure you'll come back to your college apps that much more focused and determined to get into a fantastic college. :)
