Eating Disorders. your opinion?

first of all, i dont have an eating disorder, i dont know anyone who has a real eating disorder and i dont plan in "getting an eating disorder"
I've just been thinking.
A lot of people talking to those with disorders are all; "you need to accept yourself, we have all these dumb magazines telling girls they have to be perfect blahblahblah"
I think they're all hyocrites! We've all heard fat jokes, we've all seen people raise their eyebrows. And then there's the people who are all "if a guy doesnt love you for who you are..." but i mean-does an obese girl really attract your attention? I know obese men really dont for me. I think girls (or boys) with eating disorders arent the freaks of nature they're made out to be. They're normal, they're just trying to survive life. It's sad that they have to go against their better judgment to fufil it. But..I dont blame them.
Guess that was more of a rant than anything.
Comments?

My question is more based onto peoples perception on those with eating disorders.
I"m just saying that i dont necessarily think that something is wrong with bulemics.
Anorexics maybe, just because they're so thin and they still see themselves fat but. Hasn't every teenage non-stick girl at some point considered making herself throw up?

Hey,
I'm Carli, and im a recovering Anorexic,
for the past 3 years i've beena mixture of anorexic and bulemic.
and i'm also a vegetarian, so when you look at me, im probaley scary.
pale, can see all bones, hair is rough not shiny and fried.

and we are not freaks, we all have mental problems.
and i can't tell you how many people were so mean, brutally mean, like i opened my locker one day and there was a big blob of Raw meat there, and more food, just hammed packed, adn there was a note that sad
"Hey rexic.(nickname,)
eat something you
fu**en ***** *** anorexic whore."

it sounds childish, and it was.
but it hurt alot.

an after that, i quit going to school,a dn stayed home, and i cracked finally, i told my parents (as if they didnt know already) but after i did, i went straight to the ER, and got hooked up on a IV, which HURT LIKE HELL!

and it was an experince i will never foget im only 13,
so my whole childhood has been screwed up basically, but im learnign to live with my mistakes now,

and the magazines, like seventeen they actually have a program tat STOPS body bashing, it's a good example.

thankk you.

I think that eatingdisorders are something that there are no guidelines to, and that every victim of a mental disorder like that(because yes, it attacks their brain) needs individual help. There are no black and white rules to eating disorders. I think it's sad that people have such low self-confidence that they suffer like that. Every person is at least a little self-concious, but in different areas, and we all need to know how to cope with it.

I wouldnt call them freaks i would just say they need some help to get healthy because being annorexic, bulimic, overweight is not healthy im not saying we should treat them differently just help them to make them healthy

so true

i agree with the person who said we should be trying to make them healthy
