Doctors and eating disorders?

My mum found out I have been eating only one meal per day and that ive been taking laxatives very regularly. She told my counsellor and then I was encouraged to go to see the nurse at my doctors surgery. I told her my mum was worried i was having eating problems and that she thought i needed help. The nurse asked me what i thought. I said that i thought my eating definitly wasnt normal but that i didnt see it as a "problem". She said coz am 15yrs and 9mnths its upto me and she wont help me unless its actually me whom wants the help. instead of my mum. I said ok i want to know how dangerous my eating patterns are and i would like to change them, so shes booked me in with the GP of my choice for monday at 8:30am. she said he will have alot of questions to ask?? what sort of questions may he ask?
am not sure if im ready to change or whether ive been pushed?

am not underweight. the nurse checked. Im 5foot6.5 and 121lbs

The doc will probably want to know what you've been eating, how long for, how long you've been taking laxatives, how often. They'll also want to know why you've been eating and taking laxatives like that. This might mean asking about your life in general - how you cope socially and at school, your family and how you relate with them, your self-image, how you see your body, what you think the food restriction and laxatives will achieve, etc. The doc will probably also want to set up a physical baseline - your current weight and height in particular. (edited to add: the person below is quite correct in that you can have an eating disorder at any weight/bmi/age/whatever. Sudden changes to your weight either way can be a sign of the severity of the disorder)

As to whether or not you've been pushed - only you can know that. Personally, I would suggest at least listening to what the doc has to say - the doc, the nurse and your mom are all interested in your welfare, after all.
.

they'll just ask you things like:
-have you ever binged or purged?
-why do you only eat one small meal a day?
-how long have you been doing this type of behavious for?
-What made you want to start?
-have there been any type of big occurences at home that could cause you to act like this?

just stupid pointless stuff like that. Anyways, good luck and i hope you make it through all right. Remember, you dont have to tell the anything you dont want to!

laxatives are very fangerous huni

UMMMM yes your eating patterns are VERY VERY dangerous...eating too little can destroy your body, teeth and brains......be honest with the doctor he/she needs to help you before it gets out of control and from what you described it's getting there....by the way you are young and your mom should be taking care of you and making sure your eating healthy.....cause I'm sure your a smart girl but it doesn't appear that you know what is good for you yet........By the way you can have a eating disorder at any size or weight!!!...I hope you take care of this cause I'm 100% sure you want to do other things with your life then this...and you deserve a good one!!

Oh god Ive been through all of this about 6 months ago... they asked me what i feel like when i see food, what sort of food do i eat, do i always feel like eating or not, what drinks you drink, how much you have lost and since when, they will weigh you as well, do you feel ill if so how do you feel ill, do you find it OK to eat in front of people, what do you feel like, its all basically questions like that i got sent to a councillor and to the dietitians. The councillor will help you find out why you eat like that and help you realise that you don't actually need to be like that and the dietitian will ask you if you want to lose weight gain weight or stay the same and then will give you some ideas of what to eat and will give you tasks such as cooking a meal for your whole family 2 times a month and she will ask you mum that once a week that you all sit together as a family and eat a meal. I hope i helped, don't be scared because it helped me so much! <3 x
