Don't want to gain weight after an eating disorder?

After suffering an eating disorder I am now recovering but the problem is I would really rather not gain a whole lot of weight back. Obviously, i'm not allowed to really exercise right now. Any suggestions?

The book Skinny B*tch (there's no *, yahoo just won't let me use an i) really turned my life around. I had an eating disorder for a while, and after reading the book (which is actually geared for women who feel overweight), I decided that I needed to get healthy. I changed my lifestyle to that the book suggests, vegan (don't cringe, the logic is irrefutable), and I feel amazing. Yeah, I gained weight, but when you change from eating nothing to eating healthy it's impossible not to. I now excercise and am starting to feel muscle in places that I've never felt before. I feel amazing becase I know that I'm at the size that was meant for me, now that I am healthy.

well...having suffered with anorexia myself...i would say that being vegetarian provides a LOT of comfort knowing that you aren't getting the fat and calories from meat, but it's still getting you healthy. I mean, gaining some weight is obviously the goal of recovery, but recovery should be set at your pace, not theirs. Go vege, and have your own limits, but don't fall back into ana or mia

Stay Strong! good luck

Not wanting to gain weight is part of the recovery, because thats what got you into the situation in the first place, but you have to, otherwise i dont understand what the question is. you dont have to be fat, just eat so that you are a normal healthy weight.
