Will a teacher be required to report to parents, etc, if you tell them you have an eating disorder? |
And what if you tell them that you want it to be kept quiet, and you believe they can help you by just talking to you? any harm you have to yourself or others MUST be reported. even if its only a consideration, teachers MUST report it. they may not exactly have to report it to your parents, but they have to report it to a higher authority, maybe a counselor, or else THEY will get in trouble.... If you go to a doctor or counsellor, you may be protected by confidentiality, but a teacher will most certainly tell your parents. they most likely will tell your parents if youre under 18 no matter what they tell you theyre going to do. its your health and safety and i think any parent would want to know whats going on with their child |
